Diane Ravitch @ Duke University

October 7, 2011

This was a really good interview, or chat with Diane Ravitch while at Duke University.  If you are a busy teacher (many of my readers are) I think it is something that you can bookmark and watch when you have more time, like the weekend maybe.  Diane starts speaking at about the 4 minute mark and she makes so many points that are very relevant to our lives as teachers and to the lives of our students.

It really is an excellent speech, it is highly recommended.  Diane strikes me as someone who is basically fearless at this point: She doesn’t need the money she makes, she donates most of it to charity.  But, money is not driving her, to me it seems, she is driven by the incredible injustices that she sees towards the corporatization of our schools, and the denigration of our nation’s teachers.
